GARAGE is an exhibition space run by the Thomas Schütte Foundation, situated in an inner-city courtyard in Düsseldorf. Thomas Schütte has repurposed the premises of a former large-scale garage, with a floor area of 750 square metres, through several significant interventions: an asphalt floor was laid and elements from Anna Viebrock’s stage designs were incorporated – recycled walls and parquet flooring from her exhibition in the Skulpturenhalle.

For his off-space, GARAGE, Thomas Schütte invites colleagues whose artistic work he admires, and which is suited to the specifics of this venue. The new space was opened in December 2025; two to three exhibitions per year are planned.
